Sexual abuse in relationships
Consent still matters when you are together.
Being in a relationship does not mean consent is automatic. Sexual abuse within relationships is common and often hidden.
It can include
- Pressuring or guilting someone into sex
- Sex when someone is asleep or too drunk to consent
- Refusing to use protection
- Forcing particular acts
- Threats or punishment for saying no
Men too
Men are sexually abused by partners of any gender. Many do not name it because they think men always want sex. That is not true.
