Rebuilding after a breakdown

When your mental health collapsed and you are putting things back.

A mental health crisis can feel like your life collapsed. Rebuilding takes time, and it is possible.

Early recovery

  • Rest without guilt
  • Stay connected with your care team
  • Take medication as agreed and talk about side effects

Gradually

  • Return to small activities
  • Rebuild routines
  • Reconnect with people you trust
  • Return to work slowly if possible

Learn from it

When you are ready, think about warning signs and what helped. Write a plan for future difficult times.

Be kind to yourself

You have been through something hard. Rebuilding is strength.
