Leaving: what to take

A list of things to gather, if it is safe.

If you are planning to leave, try to gather these things, or copies, if you can do so safely.

Documents

  • Identity documents and passports
  • Birth certificates for you and your children
  • Bank cards and account details
  • Tenancy or mortgage papers
  • Any court orders
  • Medical records and prescriptions

Practical

  • Phone and charger
  • Some money
  • Keys
  • Medication
  • Clothes for a few days

Personal

  • Photos and items of sentimental value
  • Children's favourite toys or comfort items

If you cannot take anything

Leave anyway if you are in danger. Services can help you replace documents later.
