Framework 07, Tedeschi and Calhoun
Post traumatic growth
Some people report changes they value after hard events. It is never promised here.
Richard Tedeschi and Lawrence Calhoun described post traumatic growth: positive changes that some people report after a severe struggle, in areas like relationships, priorities, and a sense of their own strength.
Why it is on this list, and why it is handled differently
It is real research. It is also one of the most misused ideas in this whole field. Used carelessly, it turns into the claim that suffering happens for a reason, or that it was worth it. That claim is not what the research says, and it is cruel to say it to someone in the middle of a loss.
Nothing about this had to happen.
So this practice holds a hard rule. Growth is never promised, never predicted, and never offered as an outcome. It can be described as something some people report, looking back. There is no sheet for it and no course module, on purpose. If a man raises it himself, it can be talked about. Nobody here will raise it for him.
